We have started a few little traditions with our good friends Jess and Nathan over the last few years, one of which includes fishing in Lakes Entrance on Melbourne Cup Day. Yesterday was hilarious, so many things went wrong on our adventure but we all laughed it off in our stride. As soon as we arrived in Lakes the weather took a shocking turn, gone was the still, warm, sunny 28 degree day. What greeted us was instead was an overcast sky and a ferocious wind that prompted us to break out in goose-bumps. The fish went on vacation and after three hours on our little hired boat, we came home empty handed. Nevertheless, it was a lovely way to spend a public holiday.
