weekend stills: landscaping + a birthday party

This weekend stuff got messy.

It was time to start attacking the landscaping of Casa de Hayman. Since we moved in late December, we have found two trailer loads full of concrete and bricks, pot holes, random tree trunks and an assortment of rubbish scattered throughout suspicious looking "mounds". My husband did an excellent job massacring our property with the (very scary looking) rotary hoe and his Dad, former landscaper, was a complete blessing to the whole operation. Now, our house is surrounded by dirt, but slowly, after hours of raking, it is at least starting to look like level dirt and, best of all? NO MORE RANDOM DEBRIS. Yes.
A  big thank you Mother nature for a week of sunshine, and thank you, Mr. Bunnings, for the sweet sprinkler that will make our grass grow (at rapid speeds, please).

On Sunday Derek finished off landscaping and then in the afternoon we celebrated the 2nd birthday of a very special little dude in our lives. We love you J-man.

How FREAKING awesome is this cake?!

A rather pleasant weekend if you ask me. How was yours?

joining in with Em at the Beetle Shack this week for weekly stills.
