the weekend edition // fun day sun day

This Saturday was the mother of all Saturday's in our church annual calendar. Saturday was THE day, the Community Fun Day - a FREE event for our local community. From rock climbing, show rides and motorcross all the way through to freshly made donuts and hot chips, it costs our community, our guests, absolutely nothing. We love it. It is the one time of year that thousands of people walk through our church property and give us the opportunity to so openly give back to them. With a CFD record temperature of 37 degrees, it was at times a really hard day and we were all completely exhausted by the end of it, but we loved it all the same. Joy. Pure joy. (Plus, amidst my rostered activities I was lucky enough to be able to spend some time with my wonderful friends and neighbours)

Sunday was jam packed with church celebrations, a lunch gathering, an hour of napping before heading back to church for round two and then topped off with the Hayman Christmas : phase uno. Rowan and Rochelle are down temporarily so we made the most of it with some early Christmas celebrations, copious amounts of fondue and a game of mafia. A perfect Christmasy weekend.

This week is a mammoth week in our world. We are moving into our new house this weekend and my pre-moving to-do list is mounting into something of epic proportions. I'm overwhelmed by what needs to be accomplished this week and I can't possibly see how it is going to get done (well, at least not without me ripping my hair out). Thankfully Derek is heading home a bit early from school camp so we can go back to being an active team to try and get ourselves organised. phew. I'm taking some form of comfort that in a little over a week the madness will (mostly) be over. Exciting times!
